Write your own liberal pieces

In response to Mr. Finley's Aug. 26 letter to the editor, I would like to point out that the opinion page is reserved for opinions. The opinion of Condoleezza Rice has as much right to be on the opinion page as does the opinion of Josh Finley.

Since moving to Juneau in seventh grade, I have read many pieces in the Empire's opinion page, both liberal and conservative. Whether or not my opinion differs from the writer's, as it often does, I realize that if I write more letters to the editor, I can make my voice heard as well.

So, Mr. Finely, if you would prefer to see more liberal articles in the Empire, write them, but write them well.
