Fugitive caught after two-hour manhunt

ANCHORAGE - A 41-year-old fugitive faces additional charges of hitting a woman with his truck before he led police on a two-hour manhunt.

Tim Mund, who was wanted on a charge of felony escape, is charged with assault after being accused of hitting the woman and nearly running over a police officer as well in the incident Monday. He also is charged with resisting and eluding arrest.

Police said the woman was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities said Mund walked away from an Anchorage halfway house in June. Monday's hunt took place after a fugitive task force looking for Mund stopped at a Spenard area home. Mund showed up in the truck and hit reverse, striking another vehicle, then the woman, police said.

Mund was eventually caught after a police dog tracked him down in a creek.
