JUNEAU - The Sunday Mixed Bowling League got off to a roaring start as Jeff Jones rolled three consecutive 247 games to earn a very rare triplicate patch on Aug. 24 at the Juneau Bowling Center.

This was only the second triplicate for Jones, who has rolled several perfect 300 games throughout his bowling career. The 741 series earned him high series honors for the week.

Pete Bednarowicz started his season off with eight straight strikes enroute to a league high 269 game. Maureen Danberg took women's high game honors with a 193 as well as high series honors with a 495.

Other high bowlers included the following: For the men, Loren Randolph, 226; Pete Bednarowicz, 212; Frank Rich, 207; Pete Peterson, 207, Bryon Cogswell, 206, and Kim Custer, 203. For the women, Sandy Mielke, 185; Mary Cogswell, 174; Vanda Randolph, 172 game/486 series; and Kim Vaughan, 170.

The League is seeking one more team of five or more people as well as a few individuals to complete existing teams. Anyone interested should call Tim Powers at 790-3228. Bowling starts at 5:45 every Sunday night.
