Sign Pro has a new manager: Keith Whitehead is the new manager for Sign Pro's Juneau operations.
Whitehead, born and raised in Juneau, has more than 14 years of marketing and advertising experience including with the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute and private consulting.
Local lawyer recognized for excellence: Bruce Weyhrauch, a Juneau private practice attorney, was recently honored for his work by the American Bar Association.
Weyhrauch was honored at a ceremony on Aug. 2 in Chicago.
The annual awards, sponsored by the ABA Sole Practitioners and Small Firms Committee of the General Practice, Solo & Small Firm Section, recognize solo and small firm practitioners for their leadership and service to the legal community.
Weyhrauch has been a president of the Juneau Bar Association as well as the past president of the Alaska Bar Association Board of Governors. During his time as president he was dedicated to increasing pro bono services from lawyers and worked to provide legal services to remote Alaska villages, according to an ABA press release.
ASMI names retail marketing head: Larry Andrews is the new retail marketing director of the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute.
He will manage ASMI's retail marketing program in the United States and implement an initiative that offers customized marketing programs for retail chains, the institute said.
Andrews also will oversee the activities of ASMI's four regional field marketing representatives based in Florida, Texas, Ohio and California.
During the 1990s, Andrews served as vice president of sales and marketing for the upscale Larry's Markets, based in Bellevue, Wash. Before that, Andrews was senior creative director of market advertising for Associated Grocers in Seattle. He joined ASMI after a two-year stint as vice president of marketing for MarketOrder.com.
ASMI is the state's official seafood marketing arm, which conducts quality assurance education and Alaska seafood promotions in the United States and overseas.
