Beat the Odds 10th Annual Race, 9 a.m., Mendenhall River School. The 5-kilometer run/2-mile walk will benefit the race against breast cancer. The first 600 to register will receive T-shirts. 2001 Rum Cup Sailboat Regatta, starts at 10:30 a.m., race from Mayflower Island to Taku Harbor. There is a mandatory skippers meeting at 8 a.m. today at the Harbormaster's Office in Aurora Harbor. Details: John 364-4463.

Kids Program: Sensational Salmon, 11 a.m., Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center. The program will introduce kids to the life cycle of salmon. They will also learn what they can do to help keep streams healthy. Children ages 7 to 12 are invited to attend. Details: 789-6640.
