Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:


Chase Swafford, 31, was arrested for felony assault at 10:52 p.m. Tuesday near Shattuck Way after he allegedly threatened someone with a knife. He was lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

A man, 21, was arrested for domestic violence assault and criminal mischief at 12:56 a.m. today in the valley area. He was lodged at the state prison.

Vehicle accidents:

No one was cited following a two-vehicle accident at 12:18 p.m. Tuesday near Admiral Way. A man 64, driving a GMC van, which sustained $500 damage, backed into a Subaru four-door driven by a man, 60, causing $2,000 damage.

Animal encounters:

Bears were reported Tuesday at 11:27 a.m. near Lemon Street, 5:46 p.m. near Lemon Creek Road, 6:13 p.m. near Churchill Court, 6:26 p.m. near Lemon Creek Road, 8:47 p.m. near Auke Bay Post Office and at 6 a.m. today near Poplar Street and Columbia Boulevard.

Domestic violence calls: 1.

Alcohol-related calls: 1.

Crime Line

Juneau Crime Line Inc. is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest or indictment of the person or people responsible for two burglaries of businesses July 28 near the Merchants Wharf. The names of the businesses are not being released. The safes of both businesses were broken into and all of the contents stolen. The thieves took $3,500 from one business. The amount taken from the second business is not being released.
