Stance on pot was governor's undoing

Newspapers don't want to mention it, but one reason Gov. Frank Murkowski lost his bid for a second term ("Palin upsets Murkowski," Aug. 23) is because of his personal vendetta against cannabis (marijuana) when so many citizens do not think it is appropriate to cage humans for using the God-given plant.

Cannabis is a blessing to be accepted - not persecuted, prohibited or exterminated. Murkowski's out of touch and out of contention.
