JUNEAU - Juneau police said Thursday they arrested a man after he allegedly threatened to cut off a woman's finger to get a ring and then shot a round from a handgun into the floor of a house.
Police said David Muldoon, 48, got into an argument Thursday morning with a woman in the Mendenhall Valley. Police said the woman called 911 and said she'd been assaulted by Muldoon and that he threatened to shoot himself.
While police were driving to the scene, they said, the woman called back and said Muldoon was complaining of chest pains.
Muldoon was treated by emergency personnel and treated at Bartlett Regional Hospital.
Police said the woman told them that Muldoon had struck her in the head, thrown her to the ground and tried to strangle her. Police said he then showed a knife and threatened to cut her finger off and shot a gun inside the house.
After he was released from the hospital, Muldoon was arrested on charges of robbery, assault, misconduct involving weapons and criminal mischief. He was lodged at Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
