The Excalibur Drilling & Blasting/Northern Lights Development men's softball team is seeking donations in order to participate in the National Softball World Series Qualifying Tournament held on Sept. 20-23 in Portland, Ore.

The team was the regular-season Juneau Softball Association Division 1 champion, as well as winning the JDOA One-Pitch, Marlintini's, JSA Rainball and the Yukon Softball Dustball tournaments.

Currently, the team has raised $5,000 from 40 different sponsors, but still needs an additional $2,800 to make the trip possible, according to team manager Chris Collum. The funds are to be used for the sole purpose of assisting in travel expenses for transportation and housing at the tournament.

The winner of the qualifying tournament receives an all expense paid trip to the Slow Pitch Softball World Series in Oklahoma City.

Anyone who would like to make a donation can contact Collum at 780-4047.
