JUNEAU - Officials from Mishan, China, will not make it to Juneau this weekend to finalize a sister city relationship.
Visas for the four dignitaries were held up in the U.S. consulate, said interim City Manager John MacKinnon.
"There's been a snafu in the visa process," MacKinnon said today. "What we did have planned we've canceled."
A Juneau delegation visited Mishan a year ago, and in December the Juneau Assembly agreed to establish a sister-city relationship with Mishan. This was to be the first visit from Mishan, a city on the northeast border of China.
