Gelotte celebrates 90th birthday

Former longtime Juneau resident Ray Gelotte will celebrate his 90th birthday with a reception, hosted by his children, at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at the First Presbyterian Church in Port Angeles, Wash. All friends of Ray Gelotte are invited to join his family in celebrating his 90th birthday.

Gelotte retired to Port Angeles from Juneau in 1985. He brought his love of flowers and hiking to Port Angeles, where he is a member of the Olympic Chapter of Washington Native Plant Society. He has hosted many local floral slide shows and guided hikes in the area, particularly on Hurricane Ridge. He has remained very active in his church, First Presbyterian Church of Port Angeles. He also hosts a monthly music appreciation group in his home. His recent hobby is kite-making and is a member of the American Kitefliers Association.
