Posted: Sunday, August 30, 2009

Past Juneau Glacier Valley Rotary Club president Eric Forst, center, announces on the radio the winners of the annual Duck Derby on Saturday at Rotary Park.

The Duck Derby mascot waves at cars on Riverside Drive.

In the boat, from left, Adam Furlong, Duck Derby chairman; Colleen Sullivan, 2010-11 Rotary president elect; and Jamie Letterman, Rotary president, pluck ducks.

Ducks are poured into Rotary Park Pond on Saturday in preparation for the plucking. Approximately 250 people attended Juneau Glacier Valley Rotary Club's annual Duck Derby on Saturday. Just more than 7,100 ducks were sold, most of the proceeds going to the club's high school scholarships as well as community donations.
