...Fred Meyer, for the photocopy machine
The Juneau Senior Center recently received the grant of a Sharp copy machine from the Fred Meyer Stores.
This machine will be used by The Bridge (adult day care), the ceramics program, the Senior Information Office, Care Coordination and, sometimes, by our clients.
We appreciate that the Fred Meyer Stores are supportive of Senior Programs and were able to help our Senior Nutrition Program.
We are also appreciative of the Tongass Business Center, who have been very helpful in getting us started with this copy machine.

...for help with Marine Park concerts
The Juneau Arts & Humanities council's Concerts in Marine Park 2001 are over. We give a heartfelt thank you to Holland America Westours Inc. and the City and Borough of Juneau for their support of a very popular summer concert series at Juneau's waterfront. The final performance featured Mary DeSmet and Greg Burger with the crowd surprising Mary by singing Happy Birthday. The Thunder Mountain Jazz sextet wowed the capacity crowd. Tony Tengs sold many Chilkat Cones, and family and local dogs strolled the docks in the full sunshine. This was an especially strong concert to end the park concerts for the summer! Thank you Juneau!
To the 30 groups who performed this summer, we wouldn't be what we are without your performances. To our emcees, Claire Richardson, Michael and Abel Orelove, Patricia Macklin, Manya Pugowiyi, Roblin Davis, Sharon Gaiptman, Rebecca Freer, Deborah Marshall, Colette Costa, BP and Becky Bear, thank you for keeping time, introducing the sets, announcing upcoming events and giving atmosphere to Concerts in the Park. Our sound crew, Conrad Muller and Peter Andregg, have nearly an impossible job of giving great sound to a huge variety of performers, under a shell that gathers all manner of outside noises, in weather that is often less than ideal. Your patience and experimentation make us what we are. To Genevieve Gagne-Hawes of the Juneau Empire, Susan Fitzgerald and Jeff Brown of KTOO, thank you for spreading the word about Concerts in the Park, in print and on the air. All these volunteers make Concerts in the Park a Juneau summer event.
We thank you, our residents and visitors, for being our audience and for donating to our "orange cans" each week. The money raised is all dedicated to our youth scholarship fund.
