Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Drunken driving:

• Police arrested John Dietz, 25, on a charge of drunken driving at 10:38 p.m. Thursday on inbound Egan Drive near Channel Drive. Police transported him to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and impounded the vehicle he was driving.

• Police arrested George Michael Keucker on a charge alleging drunken driving at 11:13 p.m. Thursday. Police lodged him at the state prison and impounded the vehicle he was driving.

Assaults:

• A woman, 24, was arrested on an assault charge at 2:40 a.m. Saturday near South Franklin Street. She was lodged at the state prison.

Thefts:

• A backpack containing school books and compact discs was reported stolen at 4:36 p.m. Thursday near Glacier Highway in the Lemon Creek area.

Vehicle accidents:

• A woman, 47, driving a 1995 Dodge caused a woman, 29, driving a Plymouth to swerve into a fence at 4:21 p.m. Thursday near Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek. Damage to the fence was estimated at $500. Damage to the Plymouth was estimated at $3,000. Police cited the Dodge driver on a charge of failing to yield.

• A 1991 Ford truck driven by a man, 21, struck a 1994 Geo driven by a woman, 42, at 5:37 p.m. Thursday at the Douglas Bridge. Damage to the Geo was estimated at $6,000. Damage to the Ford was estimated at $1,000. Police cited the man for failing to maintain a safe distance in traffic.

• A 2001 Subaru and a 1993 Ford collided at 5:35 p.m. Thursday near Egan Drive and Salmon Creek Lane. Damage estimates were not available.

• A 2000 Toyota truck driven by a man, 45, struck a 1987 Toyota truck driven by a man, 43, at 1:30 p.m. Friday near Vintage Boulevard. The 2000 truck had an estimated $200 damage, and the other truck had an estimated $1,500 damage. The 45-year-old was cited on a charge of making an unsafe lane change.

• A truck driven by a man, 46, struck a 1996 Chevy Cavalier driven by a woman, 31. The truck had an estimated $150 damage, and the Chevy had an estimated $1,500 damage.

Minor consuming:

• Two boys, 16, were cited on a charge of underage drinking at 9:15 p.m. Friday near Mendenhall Loop Road. They were released to family members.

• A man, 20, was cited on a charge of underage drinking at 4:10 a.m. Saturday near Mendenhall Loop Road. He was released.

Traffic stops:

• Police cited a woman, 26, for driving without a license at 12:42 p.m. Thursday at Yandukin Drive and Airport Boulevard. Police released the woman and impounded the vehicle she was driving.

• Police cited a man, 26, for driving without a valid license at 8:47 p.m. Thursday at Douglas Highway and Lawson Creek Road. Police released the man and impounded the vehicle he was driving.

Found property:

• At 7:36 p.m. Thursday, a red and blue Cannondale bicycle found near Tongass Boulevard was turned in to police.

Animal complaints:

• A bear was reported trying to get into an empty garbage enclosure at 7:46 p.m. Thursday. Also Thursday, police received reports at 1:53 p.m. and 1:54 p.m. of a bear cub wandering near Thunder Mountain Road. In the same area, a man reported to police at 3:58 p.m. that a bear had been there earlier in the day.

• A bear was reported going through a trash container at 5:04 a.m. Friday on Teal Street. The building responsible for the garbage reportedly cleaned up the mess. Also Friday, bears were reported at 7:32 a.m. near Mark Allen Street in the Lemon Creek area and at 11:49 a.m. near Les Schwab Place.
