Fairbanks man dies in motorcycle crash

Posted: Monday, August 31, 2009

FOX - A motorcyclist is dead after losing control and crashing into a guard rail on a bend on State Route 2, the Elliott Highway.

Alaska State Troopers said the driver of the Suzuki Sport motorcycle died at the scene Saturday afternoon. He was going northbound uphill with a group of motorcycles at the time.

The driver's name was not immediately released and an autopsy was pending.

The crash snarled traffic on the road north of Fairbanks for about two hours. Many of the stalled vehicles were pickups towing boats and trailers for the start of the moose hunting season.
