ANCHORAGE - A man running away from a reported domestic assault in Anchorage fell in a street where he was struck and killed.

Police say 24-year-old Peter Beatty took off running Saturday night when officers arrived to investigate a report he was trying to strangle someone.

Police say he lost his footing in traffic on Bragaw Street and was hit by a car.

Lt. Dave Parker told the Anchorage Daily News there were outstanding warrants for his arrest.
