Driving while intoxicated:
Shortly before 4 a.m. today, Jonathan Bryce Thompson, 22, was arrested on South Franklin Street for drunken driving. He was additionally charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a valid operator's license. He was apprehended after police officers responded to a report of a vehicle that struck a building. Thompson was transported to and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
Thefts, lost/found property:
About 7:15 a.m. Thursday, a man, 35, brought police a camcorder and a pair of binoculars that had been left on his property downtown.
About 7:30 a.m. Thursday, a man, 40, brought to police a two-way radio he found Tuesday in Cope Park.
Shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday, a man, 64, reported he lost his 35-millimeter camera last week somewhere in Juneau.
About 3 p.m. Thursday, a man, 32, was arrested on South Franklin Street for concealment of merchandise/shoplifting and lodged at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
About 5 p.m., a man, 29, reported finding a purple boys' Magna bike at Switzer Village trailer court.
Shortly before 1 p.m. Thursday, a man, 32, ran into a guardrail on Egan Drive outbound near Norway Point. The vehicle was privately towed. No one was injured.
Shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday, police responded to a two-vehicle accident on Mendenhall Loop Road. A Ford driven by a woman, 23, collided with a Honda Civic, driven by a girl, 17. The 23-year-old was transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital for treatment of injuries. Diagnosis by Bartlett's emergency department was a cervical sprain, a Bartlett spokeswoman said. The woman was released about an hour later in good condition. Each vehicle suffered about $2,500 damage.
Shortly before 9 p.m., a woman, 52, reported seeing a bear limping in the area of Aspen Avenue. The bear was not aggressive.
Shortly before midnight Thursday, police received a report of a bear in the area of Mendenhall Loop Road and AmeriGas.
About 3:30 a.m. today, police received a report of a black bear eating garbage on Irwin Street.
Shortly before 6 p.m. Thursday, a man, 42, was issued a citation at Gold and Third Streets for driving with an expired operator's license. The vehicle was released to a man, 24.
Shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday, a man, 24, was arrested on Taku Boulevard on an outstanding police warrant for failure to pay and comply with court orders on an original charge of drunken driving. He was lodged at state prison.
