ANCHORAGE - The driver of a pickup truck that rear-ended a street sweeper was killed in the collision on the Glenn Highway.
Anchorage police say the pickup driver, a 29-year-old from Palmer, was trapped in the crash about midnight Sunday and had to be removed by emergency responders with the Chugiak Volunteer Fire Department. He died at the scene.
KTUU reported two men in the sweeper had minor injuries.
The sweeper was not sweeping at the time and was traveling with its yellow light flashing.
A witness told police the pickup was speeding and driving erratically just before the crash.
