What is the connection between limbo and selfish?

Well, "limbo" is a party game where the winner is able to bend backwards to the lowest degree while passing under a lowered horizontal pole. "Selfish" means concentrating on one's own advantage in disregard of others. How low can some people of New Orleans go? Sadly, many there have died under the water amid Katrina's fury. Others, however, have exhibited unimaginable selfishness by stealing and even shooting a police officer who tried to prevent this thievery. They were not taking the necessities for life. The news camera showed men and women looting abandoned stores, taking the niceties.

What has happened to "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" and "Love your neighbor ..."? The thieves are, in fact, kicking their neighbors where it hurts, while they are down. Let us, here in Juneau, make this an opportunity to remind ourselves and our young people about rising above selfish behavior, teaching about caring and compassion for our fellow Americans.
