Give back money for Alaska projects

Letter to the editor

Here's how Alaska could lead the way in helping rebuild the transportation infrastructure destroyed by Katrina. We could take the recently authorized federal funds for the Gravina Island bridge, Knik Arm crossing and Juneau-Skagway road and ask they be diverted to Louisiana and Mississippi.

Then we could challenge other states to look in the federal transportation bill for their projects that are unwanted or unnecessary and do the same thing. That would truly show we stand ready to offer our available resources to assist where we can.
