Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Drunken driving:

• Police arrested Paul Martinez Jr., 46, on a charge of drunken driving at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday on Mendenhall Loop Road and Stephen Richards Memorial Drive. They lodged him at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and impounded the vehicle he was driving.


• A 21-speed bicycle was reported stolen at 4:58 p.m. Wednesday in the 3800 block of Mendenhall Loop Road.

• A flashlight and first aid kit were reported stolen at 7:16 a.m. Thursday from an unlocked 1990 Honda in the 500 block of West Ninth Street.

• Power tools valued at $800 were reported stolen at 8:41 a.m. Thursday from a covered carport in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway in the Lemon Creek area.

• An electrical generator was reported stolen at 11:16 a.m. Thursday from the 3600 block of Mendenhall Loop Road.

Hit and run:

• At 5:34 p.m. Wednesday, a 2000 Subaru station wagon was reported hit by an unknown vehicle on Front Street.

Traffic stops:

• Police impounded a vehicle at 11:38 p.m. Wednesday in the 8100 block of Glacier Highway after citing the driver, a man, 19, on a charge of driving without a license.

Animal encounters:

• A bear with an ear tag, showing it had been captured once before, was reported at 8:09 p.m. Wednesday eating food from a freezer in the 9300 block of Lee Smith Drive near the airport. A bear also was reported eating garbage and trying to access a door at 2:01 a.m. Thursday in the 8500 block of Jennifer Drive in the Mendenhall Valley. At 10:38 p.m. Wednesday, a bear was reported digging in the grass and eating berries in a yard in the 8300 block of Aspen Avenue in the valley, and a bear was reported at 11:37 p.m. Wednesday wandering in the area of Portage Boulevard in the valley.
