The fifth annual Mountain Music festival will bring local musicians to new heights as they perform atop the Mt. Roberts Tramway this Friday.
Music will begin a 6 p.m. with 10 local groups each performing 20-minute sets in the Chilkat Theater. Speakers will also pipe music from the theater into the dining room at the Timberline Bar & Grill.
Featured musicians include Know When to Quit (Terry and Frederick Hoskinson and John Robertson), The Romantic Highlanders (two Johns and a Jason with Sophie and Hannah Lager), the Machakos Family Band, accordionist Dale Wygant, Ayssa Fisher with Ruth and Victor Banaszak, teen singer/songwriter Alaska's Kit with Steve Wilde, bluesman Pat Henry, the Zahasky family's Alaska String Band, Dan Kirkwood with Libby Sterling, and Mike Truax and Friends.
Admission to the mountaintop festival is $10, which includes the tram ride. The admission price remains the same for hikers.
