Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:

Sound off on the important issues at

Driving while intoxicated

• Roger Leigh Friday, 38, of Juneau, was arrested for driving while intoxicated and lodged at Lemon Creek Correctional Center at 3 p.m. Saturday on Douglas Highway north of downtown. The vehicle he was driving was impounded.

• Jared Michael Massie, 28, was arrested for driving while intoxicated and lodged at LCCC at 4:33 p.m. Saturday on Delta Drive. The vehicle he was driving was impounded. Also, a 19-year-old man was arrested for assault and booked at LCCC during the incident.


• A 37-year-old man was arrested for assault and lodged at LCCC following an incident at about 12:15 a.m. Sunday on Harris Street downtown. Alcohol was reportedly involved in the incident.

• A 20-year-old man was arrested for resisting arrested, cited for minor consuming and lodged at LCCC following a fight at about 12:15 Sunday at the intersection of Gold and 2nd streets downtown.

• A 51-year-old man was arrested on two counts of assault and one count of criminal trespass on Jenkins Drive in Lemon Creek at about 2:55 p.m. Saturday. He was lodged at LCCC.


• A $30 black purse with a $200 cell phone was reported stolen at about 11:05 a.m. Sunday on Front Street downtown.

• A CD case and CDs of an unknown value were reported stolen from a 1994 Toyota parked on Northwood Drive in Lemon Creek at about 3:15 p.m. Saturday.


• A 46-year-old woman reported an Xbox 360 worth $500, seven video games worth $250 and a wireless remote worth $50 were stolen from her residence on North Douglas Highway sometime Thursday.


• The driver's-side window of a 2003 Ford Focus parked on Tongass Boulevard was reported scratched at about 10:45 p.m. Saturday. Damage was estimated at $300.

Lost property

• A 24-year-old woman reported losing a debit card somewhere downtown at about 8:55 p.m. Saturday.

Found property

• A woman reported finding a man's wedding ring on the Mount Roberts Trail at about 9 p.m. Saturday.

Vehicle accident

• A 2003 Subaru Legacy driven by an 86-year-old woman and a 1996 Nissan Sentra driven by a 33-year-old women sustained minor damage in a collision at about 1:10 p.m. on Glacier Highway near downtown. There were no injuries.

Animal encounters

• A bear was sighted on East Street in downtown Juneau at about 12:20 a.m. Sunday.

• Three bears were reported getting into garbage on Dredge Lake Road at about 8:05 p.m. Saturday.

• A bear was reported in the area of Franklin and 5th streets downtown at about 10:55 p.m. Saturday.
