Hotel sick wards beyond belief

Posted: Friday, September 04, 2009

Editor's note: Only one Juneau hotel is offering hotel-room beds for sick homeless patients.

I recently read an Anchorage Daily News article that indicated that the City of Juneau will begin providing hotel beds for homeless flu patients. As a frequent visitor to Juneau, I felt the need to write this letter to state the following.

As a traveler, this is completely unacceptable to me for many reasons, and when I find out which hotel(s) are providing this service they can rest assured that they will never have any of my business. I have notified my coworkers who share a similar mindset. Turning your hotels into sick wards is beyond belief.
