Juneau finishes with 9-4 record at Jamboree

The Juneau-Douglas High volleyball team finished with a 9-4 record during the 2000 Southeast Jamboree at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School last weekend.

Teams played just two games against one another that counted toward an overall record. Colony had the best overall record during the tourney at 15-2. Mount Edgecumbe's second team finished 10-2.

Colony defeated Juneau 15-8, 15-8 Friday night, and dropped the Crimson Bears in a three-game match Saturday 15-11, 14-16, 15-11.

Juneau begins it regular season Thursday in Fairbanks against the Lathrop Malemutes, then takes on the North Pole Patriots Friday and Saturday.

The Southeast Jamboree also included teams from Craig, Haines, Ketchikan and Sitka.

Final records for the 2000 Southeast Volleyball Jamboree were: Colony, 15-2; Craig, 8-4; Haines, 8-6; Juneau 1, 9-4; Juneau 2, 8-4; Juneau 3, 3-7; Juneau 4, 3-5; Juneau 5, 4-4; Ketchikan 1, 7-9; Ketchikan 2, 3-7; Ketchikan 3, 3-7; Mount Edgecumbe 1, 5-7; Mount Edgecumbe 2, 10-2; Sitka 1, 2-10; Sitka 2, 5-5; Sitka 3, 2-8.
