Juneau Billiard Association is beginning 8-ball registration for the 2001-2002 season. Registration will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13, and at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, at the Viking and at Marlintini's. The early registration fee is $30 per player. This year, 8-ball registration includes registration into the inaugural 9-ball league. Eight-ball league play begins Oct 4. Nine-ball league play begins Nov 5. Travel funds needed -- Excalibur Drilling and Blasting, the Juneau Softball Association's Men's Division 1 champions this summer, is raising funds to travel to the National Slowpitch Softball World Series Qualifying Tournament on Sept. 20-23 in Portland, Ore. Volleyball and basketball court rentals -- Court time is available on Saturday mornings at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School.
