Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:
Assaults:
A man, 58, was arrested at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday downtown for domestic violence assault. He was taken to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
Thefts:
A blue and black Nokia cell phone was reported stolen at 10 a.m. Wednesday from Willoughby Avenue.
A woman reported at 10 p.m. Wednesday from Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek that her purse had been stolen from her workplace.
Animal encounters:
Bears were reported Wednesday at 1:20 p.m. near River Road, 5:20 p.m. near Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek, 7:15 p.m. eating garbage in a garage near Ninnis Drive, 7:45 p.m. in a tree near Glacier Highway near Lemon Creek, where juveniles were throwing pine cones at it, at 9:30 p.m. eating trash near Kevin Court, at 9:30 p.m. eating trash near Lemon Creek, and at 10 p.m. getting into garbage near Berners Avenue.
Bears were reported today at 2 a.m. getting into garbage near Main Street, at 2:30 a.m. getting into garbage near Mendenhall Loop Road, and at 3:30 a.m. near Duran Street.
Other:
A man, 39, was arrested at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday near Front Street for interfering with a police officer. He was transported to the state prison.
