ANCHORAGE - Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport has received high marks for safety and operations, airport officials said Wednesday.
The FAA found "zero discrepancies" during its annual inspection of airport operations, said airport director Morton Plumb Jr.
"This confirms the safety initiatives and operational capabilities of what I consider to be the best operations team of any airport in the country," Plumb said.
The inspection considered the airport's operational procedures, including runway and taxiway conditions, lighting, runway markings, wildlife hazard management and firefighting operations. Field maintenance programs also were evaluated.
