Juneau - The Alaska Public Radio Network's 7th Annual Song of the Year Contest is accepting song entries until the close of business Friday, Sept. 13.
Regional judging will be held in Anchorage, Juneau and Fairbanks. Also, this year three new categories have been created - bluegrass, hip-hop and inspirational, according to Matt Rafferty of APRN.
Feedback will be provided to each songwriter who enters the contest. Prizes include airfare for two to Hawaii and studio time at Mirror Studio's in Anchorage. Writers of the top scoring songs also will be invited to perform at a Nov. 9 concert at the Sydney Lawrence Theatre in Anchorage.
