... for getting message out
Thank you for printing my Letter to the Editor, "AARP safety program educates senior drivers," in the Aug. 10th edition of the "Juneau Empire." As a result of responses to that letter, 21 drivers completed the program on Aug. 20 and are now safer companion drivers on our road system.

... for supporting our LAN party
On behalf of the University of Alaska Southeast Gaming Club, we'd like to thank everyone who made "Ultimate LAN Party 2003" Southeast Alaska's biggest LAN party.
By all the cheering, screaming and celebration at the event, I think that we proved to the local community that multiplayer gaming brings people closer together, and it is a sport that's here to stay. Great people, great fun.
Thanks go out to our local sponsors, Printing Trade Company, Channel Bowl, Heritage Coffee, Papa Murphy's, Rick's Cafe, Blockbuster Video and Pet Nanny's Place; and our national sponsors, Alienware, Case Ace, Nvidia, Maximum PC and Bawls.
We also need to thank UAS staff and volunteers: Tish Griffin, for her guidance and advice; Joe Nell, for providing server support; Clayton Fischer, for creating www.ultimatelan.org; Micah Sommers, for providing advertising and promotion; Tim Powers, for providing the Cisco networking backbone; Brad Duncan, for event planning; Genji League, for promotion and professional modeling; Clay Robidoux, for promotion; and young-but-take-charge, Daniel Piorkowski, for directing the Warcraft III tournament.
Special thanks to Toby Clark for providing the venue and responding quickly to all the little crises that came up. You were an excellent host.

... for working on Back Loop
I would like to use this means to thank the company and its personnel that have been working on the Back Loop Road paving project. They have done a great job of keeping traffic flowing as smoothly as possible while getting the job done.
We appreciate the manner in which they are working and look forward to the new road.
