Juneau resident Lorraine Theresa Gliniecki, 71, died Aug. 27, 2003, in Juneau.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 at the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, 416 5th St.
She was born Dec. 7, 1931, in Oxford, Mass., and lived in Juneau since 1966. She worked for the federal government as a data entry clerk from October 1966 to January 1976, when she retired. She liked playing bingo, ceramics and shopping.
According to family members, she loved being with her family. She had a special bond with Taylee, her great-granddaughter. She was a woman who could always be counted on to speak her mind.
"She was a pure spirit with a forgiving nature who had a wonderful sense of humor," said a family member. "She will be missed by all who knew and loved her, and she will forever be in our hearts and memories."
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister; son, Raymond Jr.; and husband of 51 years, Raymond Gliniecki.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Keith) Wertheimer of Juneau; son, Al Gliniecki of Pensacola, Fla.; granddaughters, Amber (Joe) McConnell of Anchorage and Tiana (Val) Escalante of Juneau; and great-grandchildren, Skyler, Taylee and Lorraine.
