I completed my Ironman on Aug. 26 in 11 hours, 34 minutes, 45 seconds. An Ironman consists of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride and finishes with a 26.2-mile marathon.

Thanks to Tamara Potdevin, Paul and Gert Gulyas, Joan Thompson, John Wray and friendly onlookers for their encouraging cheers. Very special thanks to Susan Hennon, Paul Hughes and Kelsey Potdevin for their help along the way, without which this event couldn't have been finished. Another special thanks to Glenn Miller for running with me for the final seven miles and for helping to keep me from wandering into traffic.
