Anchorage bank robber gets 43 years

ANCHORAGE - A bank robber was sentenced in Anchorage this week to more than 43 years in prison.

The U.S. attorney's office said the 39-year-old man, Bernard Miguel Kalilikane, was convicted of robbing an Alaska USA Federal Credit Union branch and a Northrim Bank in December 2007. He also was convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Prosecutors said a getaway driver, Cynthia Lee Taranto, previously pleaded guilty to armed credit union robbery and was sentenced to 20 months in prison.
