ANCHORAGE - A 73-year-old California woman died and her husband is critically injured after a four-person rafting accident in Girdwood.
Alaska State Troopers said Ronnie Zoffer of Laguna Hills, Calif., died of injuries in the accident Wednesday in Glacier Creek.
Her husband, identified as 75-year-old Charles Zoffer, was flown to Providence Alaska Medical Center.
The couple was among four people on the raft down turbulent river rapids when the accident occurred shortly before 1 p.m.
Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters said Daniel Paz, of Anchorage, and Lance Terry, of Girdwood, were not hurt.
