Juneau kicks off FIRST LEGO League

Posted: Sunday, September 05, 2010

On Wednesday, Juneau will kick off its 2010-2011 FIRST LEGO League season with a community event for all ages at Juneau-Douglas High School.

Whether you're a seasoned veteran of LEGO robotics or have never built or programmed a LEGO robot, you're invited to find out why students and their families, teachers and communities across the state have become so excited about this fun, rapidly growing, hands-on learning program.

Wednesday evening's kick-off party will tell you exactly what you need to know - as a member of a student or community team or as an adult coach or volunteer - about this exciting program. Don't forget, Junior FLL gives kids ages 6-9 the chance to form teams and participate in a tournament as well.

The kick-off party is open to the public and free of charge. Pizza will be served and door prizes will be awarded. For more information, contact Becca Parks: 907-523-2334 or rparks@jedc.org.
