Eliminate the danger of others' smoke

I am writing to urge the Juneau Assembly to pass the proposed ordinance eliminating secondhand smoke from public places and workplaces.

Over 53,000 non-smokers die each year as a result of diseases caused by exposure to secondhand smoke. Many asthmatics, including myself, endure frightening asthma attacks after breathing secondhand smoke.

I look forward to the day when I can walk into all of Juneau's restaurants without wondering if I will have to leave due to the presence of secondhand smoke.
