Brandon Wigfield of Juneau was elected to serve as Grand Worthy Advisor for the grand assembly of Alaska, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls when the statewide meeting was held in Juneau in June. Other Juneau girls elected to office were Ashley Stewart, grand worthy associate advisor, and Savannah Tajon, grand hope. Brianna Nelson from Juneau was appointed grand chair director.
The Rainbow Girls is an organization open to all girls between the ages of 11 and 20. Locally, the girls perform community service in various areas. Statewide, the Grand Service Projects selected for this term are Habitat for Humanity and Box Tops for Education. Their business meetings are held twice a month throughout the year.
The organization exists to provide girls with a positive environment in which to learn leadership and organizational skills, public speaking and teamwork. Its hallmarks are love of God and country. The girls are chaperoned and advised by adults who are dedicated to seeing girls become self-confident, mature, socially aware and successful leaders of tomorrow.
