Yes, we now have our tax dollars spent on fancy lights in the pavement, newly painted crosswalk stripes on the pavement, and expensive controls to activate warnings for both drivers and pedestrians at Douglas Highway and Cordova Street. So why aren't they activated for use? I saw technicians testing them successfully a month ago.

I thought maybe the start of school or dark and rainy days and nights might have something to do with the delay, but apparently not, as the crossing improvements still don't work.
One adult has already been killed there - that was the impetus for the improvement.
But thanks go out to the few courteous and careful drivers that have allowed me safe passage anyway, and also to the one this morning that nearly got me.
