Thanks, farewell as we relocate to Oregon

Gary and I just want to send a little note to tell all our friends and family goodbye for now. We are leaving Juneau soon and wanted to be sure that everyone knew we are thinking of them in a special way. We will miss each and every one of you.

During our long residence here, a lifetime for me and 32 years for Gary, we have come across so many good people. Life is leading us on another adventure, and leaving all of you is the hardest step on the new road.

Gary is in need of specialized medical attention that, unfortunately, is not available here. We need to be where help is when needed so we are relocating to Oregon on Sept. 24. So goodbye, Juneau, family, friends, rain and snow.

Gary and Sharon (Clements) Durling

Thank you for making our sailing a success

The summer sailing season is over, and Juneau Youth Sailing would like to thank everyone who helped make this year's program a success. The Race Team especially thanks Alaska Marine Lines. Through the generous support of AML, the Race Team was able to participate in the US Junior Olympics Sailing Regional Regatta held at Cascade Locks, Ore., in August. Alaska Marine Lines has a history of support for our non-profit program and this summer they donated barge space for the race dinghy and trailer to and from Seattle. Without their support, our team would not have been able to participate in the Junior Olympics.
