Fairbanks tightens control on city cars

Posted: Sunday, September 07, 2008

FAIRBANKS - Fairbanks employees using city cars to commute will have to reimburse the city for the personal mileage.

Mayor Terry Strle says the policy that took effect Sept. 1 is necessary because of the high cost of fuel.

The policy also makes it clear that garbage trucks, dump trucks, front loaders, fire trucks and ambulances are expressly prohibited from being used for personal reasons.
