Lincoln Maka's four TDs lead Cougars to victory

Lincoln Maka rushed for four touchdowns to lead the Cougars past the Hurricanes 24-13 last weekend in the Juneau Youth Football League senior division.

Chris Hoffman intercepted a pass to preserve the win while Matthew Maka had a 40-yard reception in the win.

A.J. Cortez-Munoz led the Cougars defensively at middle linebacker.

The Hurricanes forced four turnovers in the loss.

Jack Perkins led the Hurricanes offensively. Perkins had a 42-yard rushing touchdown and hauled in a 17-yard touchdown pass from Nelson Liborio. Christian Rotola added a one-point run in the win.

PEE-WEE DIVISION

Titans 0 , Rams 0

Bonham Ost wrapped up Rams running back Chris Hill 22 yards shy of the goal line to preserve a scoreless draw for the Titans.

Rams defensive end Samson Nayer led the Rams in tackles and added two sacks. Oshe Lang recovered a fumble and Rams linebacker Nathan Dalton intercepted a pass in the tie.

Seahawks 6, Cowboys 0

Daniel Nore scored the lone touchdown of the game as the Seahawks nipped the Cowboys.

Nore scored in the first quarter on a 21-yard run.

John Jolly led the Seahawks' defense while Doug Lail played quarterback.

JUNIOR DIVISION

Spartans 25, Hawkeyes 14

The Spartans exploded to a 25-0 lead and withstood a furious fourth-quarter rally by the Hawkeyes to win the game.

Leka Maka rushed for two touchdowns while Wepi Maka and Chris Holloway had one touchdown each in the win. Wepi Maka also had a one-point run.

For the Hawkeyes, Judah Aldrighette and Brooks Young had rushing touchdowns. Aldrighette also had a two-point conversion run.

SENIOR FOOTBALL

Bruins 20, Red Raiders 18

Bruins quarterback Beau Damien completed three touchdown passes to lead his team past the Red Raiders.

Damien completed two touchdown passes to Hunter Madding and one to Franklin Hotch in the win.

Defensively for the Bruins, Damien Madding and Mason Baker all intercepted passes while Trentyn Days recovered a fumble.

For the Red Raiders, Matthew Bautista scored on a 3-yard run while Jeff Wolfe added a touchdown run and Brian Koenig recovered a fumble and rumbled 60 yard for a touchdown.

Sitka 20, Badgers 12

The Sitka Storm rallied from a 12-0 halftime deficit to upend the Badgers.

Eric Fagerstrom scored twice to lead the Badgers.
