Posted: Sunday, September 09, 2001

JUNEAU Dance teachers aboard a "Tango at Sea" cruise will come ashore Tuesday evening to teach the tango in Juneau.

Teachers Fermnada and Guillermo will offer an hour of instruction and demonstration from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Juneau Elks Lodge Ballroom. The instruction will be followed by open dancing until 11 p.m.

A group of tango enthusiasts from Washington, D.C., is participating in the tango at sea cruise aboard the Norwegian Sky.

"They dance every night on the cruise until two or three in the morning," said Ann Daniels of Juneau, who helped organize the class. "We've invited them all to come. One of the women from the cruise will bring CDs and she'll be the disc jockey for us."

Tango Night is sponsored by Juneau Dance Unlimited and the Juneau Arts and Humanities Council. The cost is $20 a couple or $12 for individuals.
