Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:
Drunken driving:
Police arrested Randall Hel-art, 46, on a charge of drunken driving after receiving a report of his driving at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday at Egan and Riverside drives. They lodged him at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center and impounded the vehicle he was driving.
Police arrested Pedro Francisco Castro-Arenas on a charge of drunken driving at 11:20 p.m. Tuesday on Raven Road in the Douglas area. They lodged him at the state prison and impounded the vehicle he was driving.
Domestic dispute:
Police arrested a woman, 30, on two counts of domestic-violence assault at 6:44 p.m. Tuesday in the Mendenhall Valley. They lodged her at the state prison.
Fraud:
At 1:28 p.m. Tuesday, a man reported the use of a fraudulent check in the amount of $5,000 near North Douglas Highway.
Theft:
A man, 43, was found in possession of merchandise from various downtown retailers after a report of shoplifting at 12:09 p.m. Tuesday on South Franklin Street. He was turned over to cruise ship security officers.
An ivory carving, valued at $300, was reported stolen at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday near South Franklin Street.
A backpack was reported at 9:34 p.m. Tuesday near Northwood Drive in the Lemon Creek area. It contained schoolbooks, homework and a portable compact disc player.
An identification card was reported stolen at 10:04 a.m. Wednesday from a vehicle left unlocked near Lawson Creek Road in Douglas.
Vandalism:
A tire was reported slashed at 6:56 p.m. Tuesday on a 1991 Mazda parked near Glacier Highway.
Vandalism was reported to a Chevrolet Blazer at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday, somewhere in the Juneau area.
Vehicle accident:
Police cited a woman, 39, on a charge of careless driving after a chain-reaction accident at 7:51 a.m. Wednesday on the Douglas Bridge.
The woman was driving a 1994 Mazda that sustained $6,000 in damage. Also involved in the accident were a 1993 Honda, driven by a woman, 55, and a 2001 Mazda, driven by a man, 52. Damage to the Honda was estimated at $2,000. Damage to the newer Mazda was estimated at $3,000. No injuries were reported.
Hit and run:
At 4:32 p.m. Tuesday, a man reported a 1990 Dodge Van struck a 2002 Dodge van on South Franklin Street in a hit-and-run.
At 9:38 a.m. Wednesday, a man reported his 1989 Toyota was struck while parked at Fifth and Park streets.
Traffic stop:
Police impounded a vehicle at 11:52 p.m. Tuesday on outbound Egan Drive near Sunny Point after citing the driver, a 21-year-old man, on a charge of driving without a license.
