World-class ventriloquist to visit Juneau

Posted: Thursday, September 09, 2004

Comedian/ventriloquist/impersonator/singer Terry Fator will appear at Juneau-Douglas High School for two student shows, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9. Adults and kids are welcome for $2.

Fator will also appear at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at the University of Alaska Southeast Student Activities Center. Admission is to be announced.

Fator's shows feature three wooden sidekicks, the Oldest Man in the World, the World's Worst Elvis Impersonator and Walter T. Airdale, Legendary Yodeler, plus two other friends, Cocoa the Talking Monkey and Little Andy, Fator's 8-year-old nephew.

Airdale is a self-described ladies' man who believes he can pick up girls with his yodeling. Andy is full of corny jokes and youthful attitude. The Elvis impersonator can't remember any Elvis songs but can sing Garth Brooks' "Friends in Low Places." The Oldest Man is 7,000 years old and was friends with Noah and Moses.

Fator's shows include Michael Jackson impersonations and he turns an audience member into the world's first human puppet.

Fator has appeared with Reba McEntire, Garth Brooks, The Dixie Chicks and Styx.
