Over 1,000 Strykers expected to return

FORT WAINWRIGHT - More than 1,000 soldiers are expected to return to Fairbanks over the next few days.

Army officials say by the end of the week, more than half of the 4,000-member 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team should be back at Fort Wainwright. They have been on a year-long deployment in the Diyala province in Iraq.

Flights are scheduled today, Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week, each bringing up to 300 soldiers home.
