FAIRBANKS - Sixteen German high school students have started their school year in Fairbanks.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported they're on a three-week exchange program with families of students who spent three weeks in Germany in June.
The German teens say they're surprised by the size of fast food meals and by everyone traveling by car. They say schools are hard to compare.
One student, Charlotte Jost, says she takes 13 classes in Germany, compared to six in Fairbanks.
