Juneau Symphony needs singers

Posted: Thursday, September 09, 2010

The Juneau Symphony is seeking singers for the 2010 Juneau Symphony Chorus for the performance of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 2, "The Resurrection," at the Juneau Symphony's October concerts.

Mahler's No. 2 will feature one of the largest orchestras in Juneau Symphony history, as well as 100 singers and popular soloists Beth Madsen Bradford and Joyce Parry-Moore. There will be two performances, on Oct. 23 and 24, at Juneau Douglas High School auditorium, under the direction of conductor Kyle Wiley Pickett and chorus conductor William Todd Hunt.

Singers from outside Juneau are welcome to join.

Rehearsals are already under way at Resurrection Lutheran Church, but there are many spots left. Singers do not need to audition. They can sign up at rehearsal or by contacting the symphony office at 586-4676.
