FAIRBANKS - A body found near a pickup truck parked at a highway pullout may be a missing Alaska man.
Alaska State Troopers say they believe they have recovered the remains of 69-year-old Johnny Rogers of Fairbanks, who has been missing since June 16 when cell phone records indicate he had a brief conversation with a friend.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported the remains were found Monday afternoon near a pullout at 350 Mile Parks Highway.
A 2010 pickup truck belonging to Rogers was found parked nearby, but it was not visible from the road.
Troopers said there is no indication of foul play but the death is still under investigation. The remains will be sent to the state medical examiner's office for an autopsy.
