Police and Fire

Juneau police, fire officials and state troopers reported:


• An alarm box, valued at $2,400, was reported stolen at 9:05 a.m. Tuesday near Gold Street.

• A green Huffy mountain bike, valued at $250, was reported stolen at 12:07 p.m. Tuesday near Glacier Highway. The bike was stolen sometime Sunday night.

Vandalism and criminal mischief:

• Exterior phone lines of a building were vandalized. The incident was reported at 1:14 p.m. Tuesday near First Street.

• A rock was thrown through the window of a business. The incident was reported at 5 a.m. today near West Willoughby Avenue. Damage was estimated at $400.

Animal encounters:

• Bears were reported Tuesday at 8:17 a.m. near Glacier Highway, 9:32 a.m. near Coogan Drive, 9:48 a.m. near Thunder Mountain Road, 10:58 a.m. near Aisek Street, 2:10 p.m. near Birch Lane, 5:24 p.m. near Coogan Drive, 8:43 p.m. near Gastineau Avenue, 8:52 p.m. near Birch Lane, 9:23 p.m. near Stephen Richards Memorial Drive and 11:02 p.m. near Glacier Highway in Lemon Creek.

• Bears were reported today at 2:50 a.m. near Reinhardt Street, 3:37 a.m. near Rainbow Row and 4:14 a.m. near North Douglas Highway.
