ANB escapes to Pacific Islands
JUNEAU - Downtown's Alaska Native Brotherhood Hall will host "Pacific Island Get Away," an evening of dinner, song and dance, at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10.
The night will include a social hour and entertainment from Juneau's Pacific Island communities.
Tickets are $50 and available at Hearthside Books. Guests must be 21. For more information, call 789-3538.
Valentine's hosts 'Middle Eastern Cafe Night'
JUNEAU - The dancers from last weekend's "Belly Fusion: An Evening of Middle Eastern Flavors, Rhythms and Motions" at the Silverbow are moving down Seward Street for "Middle Eastern Cafe Night."
The event runs from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at Valentine's Coffee House & Bakery, 111 Seward St.
Like "Belly Fusion," the night will include dinner, dessert, coffee and a combination of Egyptian cabaret style and American tribal bellydancing to live drumming and canned music.
The dancers include members of Daughters of the New Moon and Patshiva.

JAHC accepting grant applicants
JUNEAU - Grant applications are now available for the Juneau Arts & Humanities Council's Major, Mini and Individual Grant Program for artists. Local organizations and individuals must submit their applications to the JAHC office by 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26.
These grants are offered once each year. For more information or applications, call 586-ARTS. The JAHC office is located at 206 North Franklin St.
